Between 1984 and 1992 IUCN carried out a detailed seven-year study of the entire coast of the Sultanate of Oman. The project was undertaken in order to determine and map distributions of coastal and marine activities, identify management problems and to prepare reports to resolve problems.
This report is a summary of those results, and provides information on the status of four groups of marine fauna: cetaceans, turtles, coastal birds and water corals.
