The Marine Nature Conservation Review of Great Britain (MNCR) commenced in 1987 with the main objectives of extending our knowledge of benthic marine habitats, communities and species, and identifying sites and species of nature conservation importance. This book presents a summary of the rationale and methods used in the MNCR. Chapters cover historical perspective; rationale and setting; Britain's marine habitats and species; scope and structure; data collection methods, storage and analysis; interpretation; and dissemination and use of MNCR information. Data from the MNCR is published in Coasts and Seas of the United Kingdom.
