About this book

Language: Czech

The last part of the atlas closes this four-part series of atlases of butterflies and caterpillars in Central Europe. In addition to families of butterflies that are very well known to readers, such as the swallowtail butterflies, Pieridae, Nymphalidae, Lycaenidae and Hesperiidae, the book also includes lesser-known families with exclusive daily activity such as Zygaenidae, Sesiidae and Thyrididae. With the exception of a few experts, few of us realise that the current rapid development of human civilization, accompanied by interventions that are insensitive to the environment, significantly correlate to a steep decline in butterfly populations. The final part of this atlas series tries to find answers and understand why it is desirable to preserve this natural heritage for future generations.
