Biography

Biswajit Roy Chowdhury, Buroshiva Dasgupta and Indira Bhattacharya compiled the information for the chapter on India. They have a wealth of conservation experience between them and are all on the board of the Nature Environment and wildlife Society. Stephen Elliott, author of the Thailand chapter, lives in Thailand, where he co-founded the award-winning Forest Restoration Unit. He lectures in wildlife conservation and ecology at Chiang Mai University. Nigel Hicks wrote the chapter on The Philippines. Nigel is a biologist, freelance writer and photographer; his work has appeared in numerous publications around the world. The chapter on Malaysia was compiled by the staff of the World Wide Fund For Nature (WWF) Malaysia, all of who have extensive scientific and conservation experience.
