Language: In French with English abstracts
Contains 60 accounts of the breeding species (with an English abstract for each) found in intra-muros Paris (excluding the woods of Vincennes and Boulogne), plus an overview of about 100 non-breeding species. There is also a guide to the best places to watch birds in the city and a list of birds observed since 1850.
Species include some surprises, for example the Kingfisher, the Sparrowhawk and the Reed warbler. This richness is an indicator both of the health of the city and of the adaptability of some bird species.
Each account includes a map of the distribution of the species in Paris and:
- Size of the population
- Phenology
- Urban particularities
- Historical knowledge
- Comparison with other french towns
- Comparison with other towns in Europe
- Non-breeding period
