This atlas provides an overview over the 600 most important forminiferal taxa of the Central Partethys, and offers the compilatory knowledge of 28 scientists of 13 nations. The contained foraminiferal data cover stratigraphically the time between the Eocene/Oligocene boundary until the end of the Middle Miocene (end of the Sarmatian).
This monograph gives insight in the changing environmental settings that prevailed within the various basin of this independant intracontinental sea and it summarizes the differing geodynamic conditions determining the faunistic evolution within this distinct bio-province.
