The Owen trap works on the same principle as the Malaise Trap, but provides a completely enclosed environment into which old timber, flood debris, woodland floor leaf mould, old grass cuttings, etc. can be placed, and the emerging insects collected, at home, for weeks ahead. The contents of some Owen traps have been continuously producing for 18 months.
