About this book

Language: Czech

Spiders are undoubtedly one of the most popular groups of animals, due to their ubiquity and striking and interesting behaviours, such as making of cobwebs and unique ways of hunting prey. By studying spiders experts have documented the enormous heterogeneity in morphology and life history characteristics of this specific group of animals, of which worldwide there are an estimated 42 000 species. In the Czech Republic 865 species have so far been found. Even the Czech spider fauna show a great diversity both in size and colour, as well as in their way of life in relation to the surrounding countryside. This book is trying to capture at least part of this diversity.

Summary in Czech:
Pavouci bezesporu patří k nejpopulárnějším skupinám živočichů, díky své všudypřítomnosti i nápadným a zajímavým životním projevům, jakým je např. tvorba pavučin či unikátní lov kořisti.
