About this book

Language: French

This guide is a concise and practical book to determine the most common plant species in France and its neighboring countries. It includes only the most common species, those that occur at every step in the French plains and hills, mountains and the Mediterranean region, some 100 families, 500 genera and over 1,000 species

The book is strictly hierarchical: the reader identifies families, given in alphabetical order, by looking at the type genus, then the different genera, and finally the species. The approach is scientific, combining for the first time:
- An illustrated key, which is the only way to achieve the exact solution (name the species);
- A colour illustration for each species;
- Ecology, with simple symbols and a distribution map (for woody plants).
The book is also a plant biology textbook: for each family, morpho-anatomical, biological, and ecological details, as well as plants important to humans, are given.

- des clés illustrées, seul moyen d'aboutir à la solution exacte (nommer l'espèce) ;
- une illustration couleur pour chaque espèce ;
