Very similar product to the printed version of Plants of Southern Africa - Names and Distribution, this version differs in that all references to Flowering Plants of Africahave been omitted, while national numbers of all indigenous trees have been added. In addition the database also reflects the most current status of southern African plant systematics. The database is fully menu driven and comprises five tables that house: 347 family names, 3358 genus names, 24731 names in current use, 13882 synonyms, 863 naturalized taxa, 5964 literature references, 1056 national tree numbers, and, provincial and national distributions.
Minimum computer requirments: 286 processor (preferably 386), VGa monitor, 12 Mb disk space, DOS 3.3 or higher.
