Language: Booklet bilingual in English and French

Together with Volume 2, this major work contains a total of 3200 recordings of 1466 species from North, West and Central Africa. It wasd published by the Societe Ornithologiques de France in collaboration with The British Library National Sound Archive. Volume 1 covers 423 species.

The African Bird Sounds CD set does not include any spoken announcements. The species are split into separate tracks which are all listed in the accompanying booklets and none of the sounds are artificial in any way. The set was designed to be an identification guide the species recordings are rather short (an average of 30 seconds each). African Bird Sounds is an essential tool for anybody trying to familiarise themeselves with the songs and calls of African birds.
