About this book

Ecuador is one of the most bio-diverse countries in the world. With over 1,600 bird species in an area the size of the state of Nevada, it is on the "Bucket List" of many avian enthusiasts. More than half of the species on the continent of South America can be observed in this tiny nation.

Birding Northwest Ecuador is intended to provide all the information needed to locate and enjoy the most important birding areas of Northwest Ecuador. Detailed maps and GPS coordinates are provided to locate each spot. Trail maps are supplied where possible. Target species for each reserve are identified along with a more complete bird list indicating which species have been previously observed.

This is the first in a series of book that will identify the various birding areas of Ecuador.
