The Puffin is a charismatic and comic-looking bird that is instantly recognizable. Derek Robertson has been sketching and painting puffins over many years and has gathered together a collection of paintings and observations that beautifully portray these fascinating creatures.
Since graduating from Art College in Dundee in 1989, Derek Robertson has established a name as one of the country’s foremost wildlife and landscape artists. He exhibits around the world and his paintings are held in private and museum collections in more than 50 countries including those of HRH the Duke of Edinburgh and The Scotland Office. His work has won many prizes at national exhibitions and received international acclaim. He is an elected signature member of the prestigious USA-based Society of Animal Artists.
Derek has illustrated numerous books and articles and written several books about his own paintings. He is regularly featured in press and radio and has appeared on television as both a writer and presenter and his last series was nominated for a prize at the Cannes Film Festival.
