The original RememBird, introduced in 2006, was designed by an avid birder. Its successor, the RememBird II has been redesigned by hundreds of
birdwatchers around the world who have kindly fed back their suggestions on how to make it even better. It looks the same on the outside, but inside,
everything has changed.
* Increased 4GB memory.
* Built-in speaker so you don't have to plug in an earpiece to hear recordings.
* Now able to support external microphones - simply plug in and start recording.
* Record in stereo from other devices such as batbox bat detectors.
* Higher gain with better quality recording and an automatic gain control.
* New processor allows faster uploads of your recordings and downloads of future updates.
The new processor inside will enable significant functionality to be added over the coming years. This will be downloaded to your RememBird as it becomes available.
The Remembird II comes with an Australian audio field guide as standard putting recordings of over 400 species at your fingertips at no extra cost. In fact the Remembird II is actually cheaper than its predecessor, which didn't include any audio field guides!
We think you'll like the way RememBird II helps you to become a better, more confident and more valuable birdwatcher whether on your local patch or birding for the first time in a new continent. If you care about what you see and hear, you should be birding with a RememBird II.
Record Notes
RememBird's primary purpose is to complement your field notebook. By letting you whisper what you see, as you see it, you can take much more accurate notes, more quickly and without taking your eye off the bird for a second. This leaves you more time to watch or sketch the bird. The recorder fits beneath roof-prism binoculars and the recording controls are designed to be used whilst you are looking through the binoculars - even when wearing gloves. Press the button to record and release it when you've finished.
Record Birdsong
A second, forward-facing microphone lets you record the sounds made by whatever you are watching. An innovative continuous "loop" recording mode means that the recorder is "always listening" and waiting for you to tell it to keep what it just heard - but without wasting space in its memory. The microphone will pick up most bird song and ambient sounds, but for those wanting increased performance, you can now plug in an external microphone.
Software
The sophisticated software allows you to download, label, edit and make lists of your recordings. In addition you can save audio files in MP3 to make your own audio field guides. Runs on PC and Mac.
Recommended Accessories
Dual 3.5mm socket to 2.5mm plug Adaptor Lead
