The prime purpose of this book is to enable the reliable identification of the adults of the 350 species of Carabids that occur in Britain and Ireland. Fully illustrated keys to subfamilies, tribes, genera and species are provided. Notes are given for each species to allow the user to confirm identification.

This is the second edition of this Handbook, replacing Lindroth (1974) which has been out of print for many years.
