This report provides guidance on the potential for the restoration of currently worked or abandoned cut-over bogs. It is largely concerned with ombrotrophic peatlands (mires irrigated directly and more-or-less exclusively by precipitation inputs) and particularly with those known as `raised bogs', although some consideration is also given to restoration of fen peat workings.
