The review examines the data sets for 41 raptor species in the SAFRING databank, including vultures, diurnal raptors and owls. Each species is discussed in a text written by Terry Oatley and most are accompanied by striking ringing-to-recovery maps of three scales for Southern African, sub-Saharan Africa and Africa-Eurasia, showing the direction, distance covered and age ringed for selected recoveries.
