Standard reference work on mineralogy. Each chapter is divided into sections on structure, chemistry, optical and physical properties, distinguishing features and paragenesis. A brief tabulation of mineral data and a sketch showing optical orientation are also prvoided, together with full references to the literature and representative chemical analyses. Note: The Geological Society has acquired the rights to this superb series, and is thankfully reissuing volumes at much lower prices.
