About the editor: ROBERT E. SIEVERS, PhD, is a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at the University of Colorado, Boulder. He presently serves as Director of the University's Global Change and Environmental Quality Program. The coauthor of 173 publications and holder of twenty--five U.S. and foreign patents, Professor Sievers earned his PhD from the University of Illinois.
