BirdMIKE

BirdMIKE is a tool that helps you to identify birds through sound and sight. It enables you to make recordings of various species and saves the audio recordings onto various paper products such as Diaries, Bird Books, Field Guides and Stickers. For comparison and as an aid to identification, there is a library of Songs, Calls and Advice of 270 species commonly found in Britain.

"It's no exaggeration to say that in 6 years of running these courses that the birdPEN is the single most successful tool I've been able to utilise to help with birdsong and call identification." Michael Flowers, www.eybirdwatching.co.uk

Enjoy building up your own interactive birding experiences with BirdMIKE. Now you don't have to read about birds in various bird books but can also listen to them as you read! BirdMIKE is a brilliant innovation that is simple to use but very effective. (The technology has won the prestigious 2009 enABLED award for "the electrical product that has changed lives" and was a finalist in the world's largest "technology in Education" fair held in Olympia in January 2010.)

'Fantastic piece of kit! Would recommend it.' - Steve Micklewright, Avon Wildlife Trust

BirdMIKE is simple to use. There is no need for computers, and being pocket sized, it can be used outdoors. The best feature is its ability to retrieve sound instantly and anywhere, without having to scroll up and down minute screens that are in many MP3 players or link onto computers.

This is how it works:
Switch on BirdMIKE, press the record button and record your own bird sounds. Save them into various publications. For example, if you want a logbook and build up a reference of your audio experiences, why not save the recordings into the 80 page "British Birds Audio Diary." There are 70 blank audio enabled pages for your notes, drawings and recordings. You can also use the index to play back over 270 British Birds recordings. There are over 4 hours of audio content by Jean C Roche, Europe's leading Bird Sound Recorder and advice by Geoff Sample, one of UK's foremost birding experts.

"It's brilliant!" Mr Jackson from Whitby, Yorkshire, UK

"A useful addition to the learner birder's armoury and even a handy reference for the more experienced," Birdwatch December 2009
