This series provides a forum for rationally argued, solidly based work on the origins and evolution of language which combines scholarship with readability. The editors welcome submissions from authors in all fields bearing on the subject, including linguistics, cognitive neuroscience, animal behaviour, biology, anthropology, psychology, computer science, and archaeology. The readership include scholars from many disciplines as well as students at postgraduate and advanced undergraduate level. The books are usually be published simultaneously in hardback and paperback editions.
