Frank S Dobson’s popular field guides to many of the UK’s most common lichen species are fully illustrated with easy to use keys, enabling hundreds of lichens to be identified in the field.
Technical words are kept to a minimum and each volume contains photographs, a glossary and a fully illustrated field key, to help the non-specialist identify many of Britain’s lichens. The series covers lichens found in churchyards, woodland and on the coast and seashore. The keys use characters visible in the field, and the series contains supplementary information on identifying lichen species commonly found on, among other surfaces, stone, soil, sawn wood, concrete and mortar.
Forthcoming volumes in this series will be added to this page as soon as we become aware of them.
