Lichen Atlas of the British Isles

The British Lichen Society launched its mapping scheme in 1964 and had, by December 1994, recorded 95.6% of the squares in the British Isles, except for Ireland, where 65.1% of the squares had been completed. The maps which will make up this important series will be produced on a continuing basis to eventually cover all the British species. They will be published at roughly twelve month intervals, on high quality paper. This format will allow a map to be reissued if important new data is obtained on a species. On the reverse of the map are details of British and Irish distribution, substrate ecology, phytosociology and associated species, British status, world distribution, identification notes, and references including the location of illustrations of the species. The nomenclature will follow that of The Checklist of Lichens of Britain and Ireland.

An A4 binder is available with the first part.

We welcome standing orders for the series.
