Synopses of the British Fauna

These are a series of invaluable identification works which bridge the gap between the popular guides and specialised monographs and treatises. Each volume presents a more detailed account of a group of animals than is found in most field guides, and is illustrated with diagrams and figures.

Published for the Linnean Society of London and the Estuarine & Coastal Sciences Association. The Field Studies Council has taken over the publication of volumes in this series. The Council has plans to revise and republish out of print Synopses, as well as publish completely new volumes.
