Wetlands International is a non-profit organisation concerned primarily with promoting the conservation of wetlands and wetland biodiversity. Created in October 1995 by the integration of the Asian Wetland Bureau (AWB), the International Waterfowl & Wetlands Research Bureau (IWRB), and Wetlands for the Americas (WA), its stated aim is: 'To sustain and restore wetlands, their resources and biodiversity for future generations through research, information exchange and conservation activities worldwide'.
