What's this?

Originally published in Greek in 1994, this is the English edition of the classic work. Superbly illustrated with numerous full page colour photographs, the book presents the most beautiful and outstanding shells of the Greek shores. Extensive research and systematic studies were carried out for the production of this publication, which is a major contribution to the malacological knowledge of the Greek seas. information is provided on molluscan morphology, physiology, anatomy, and distribution. three hundred and sixty species are displayed together with many drawings and photographs of the shores. Chapters are included to describe the relationship between man and shell and present guidelines on the collection and conservation of shells.
The historical introduction to the title was written by Professor William T. Stearn.
