Top five bestsellers:
Spoon-billed sandpipers given a head start
Conservationists in Russia have successfully hatched thirty spoon-billed sandpiper chicks in an ongoing project to secure the future of this critically endangered species. Experts from WWT and Birds Russia take the eggs from the wild and raise the young chicks in protected circumstances to increase their chances of survival.

Seeds too large for Madagascar dispersers
The loss of 48 unique species of large bodied animals over the last 2,000 years has played a part in the creation of plant anchronisms on the island of Madagascar. A new research project aims to identify, study and conserve plants whose seeds are not being dispersed effectively, and whose populations may decline as a result.

Cave biodiversity in Portugal
Portugal's caves are almost a biodiversity "hot spot". One cave in southern Portugal is home to 22 cave-limited species... but a recent increase in cave biology research worldwide has seen the species count necessary to qualify for the "hot spot" label rise from 20 to 25 organisms.
