From the introduction:
"Through the courtesy of Dr. K.D. Ghorpade, University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore, we have received a rich collection of asilids for study, most of which are from South India. Over the last decade of study of lndian Asilidae by us, it is seen that the speciation is much more intense in South India than North India. Though we have undertaken intensive surveys in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim and West Bengal and have collected a large number of robberflies, it has been observed that the intensity of speciation is comparatively low. The same is the case from Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesk, Punjab, etc. Types will be deposited in the University of Agricultural Sciences, Bangalore and Zoological Survey of India, Calcutta."
