About this book

Thailand's Underwater World showcases the wonder of the marine life in Thailand's oceans through world-class photography and concise, insightful text. Covering a wide array of marine life, from 12 m-long whale sharks to tiny shrimps and nudibranchs, the book is designed to appeal to scuba divers and non-divers alike. The text is a dynamic, digestible mix of information about Thailand's marine life, personal anecdotes about encountering Thailand's sea creatures face-to-face, and interviews with Thai marine biologists and dive operators. Feature stories include the rediscovery of the sunken WWII submarine USS Lagarto, the effects of the devastating tsunami on Thailand s dive sites, and the future of Thailand's underwater world as it comes increasingly under threat from climate change and overfishing. Drawing on their experience as avid divers, the authors have also compiled a guide to learning to dive, key dive sites, travel practicalities, and where to see for oneself all the stunning marine creatures showcased in the book.
