Recently a complete fossil skeleton of a male Allosauraus, a huge jurassic carnivore, was found in Wyoming and dubbed `Big Al'. Written in his bones is the story of a lofe of hardship and pain. The first of these programmes will recreate his life from hatching, through to his premature death on the carcass of a giant Sauropod. The second programme will trace the evidence that has allowed scientists to interpret his life story. Using the same effects team and technology that created `Walking with Dinosaurs', this special will combine a safari through the brutal world of the dinosaurs with a scientific detective story. The DVD contains a bonus programme on `The Making of Big Al'.
