The work includes a complete review and guide of 152 species of butterflies (Diurna), which occur in Republic of Belarus and adjacent countries, as well as the species discovery of which is probable in future on the territory of Belarus. For the Belarus territory 140 species of butterflies were noted until now. In the work all taxonomic information about group (including subspecies and all known synonyms) is present. The database contains 1246 original photo images. The guide contains 822 graphical schemes and pictures. For each supreme taxon the diagnosis is available. The species were described according to following heading: Variations and taxonomic remarks, English name, Imago fore- wing length, World distribution (areal), Belarusian distribution, Habitats, Biology, Conservation. The choice in chapter ôSearchö can be realized according to valid names, synonyms and, moreover, according to the following filters: Distribution of regions of Belarus, Hygro-preferendum, Biotopical habitat- preferendum, Flight-period, Host plants. The database contains of 1246 original photo of butterflies (upper side and underside) from collections and live specimens as well. 27 characteristics can be applied for recognizing of the species. The guide embraces 822 graphical schemes and pictures.
