Biography
DR. S. PARASURAMAN, an anthropologist by training, received professional education from International Institute for Population Sciences, Bombay, India Institute of Technology, and Institute of Social Studies. He is currently Professor of Social Sciences at the Tata Institute of Social Science. Dr Parasuraman was with Oxfam in India as its Deputy National Director, Programme, from 1995 to 1997. Dr. Parasuraman has written extensively in the area of development, displacement, resettlement and rehabilitation, associated with the Namada Movement since 1987 and was a member of the Prime Minister's Committee to review Tehri Hydroelectric project in India.
