Molecular genetics and cytogenetics have improved the quality and amount of genetic information available. The process has significantly affected cattle, due to their importance in the economy and culture of many countries for meat and milk. As demands for these goods increase, modern technologies in immunogenetics, cytogenetics, biochemical and molecular genetics create optimistic expectations for the future.
