About this book

Language: Bilingual in English and Italian

The genus Aquilegia L. (Ranunculaceae) includes numerous species of plants are easily recognizable because of characteristic flowers with long petals in a croissant shape. This work, which has a strictly experimental approach through decades of field research and research in Central European museums, is a taxonomic revision of the Italian and European columbines, accompanied by an extraordinary amount of scientific data, useful to scholars but also widely accessible for amateurs. The work is enhanced by an extensive review of the nomenclatural types, mostly designated in this very book, of the more than two hundred specific and infraspecific taxa of European origin.
