About this book

This is a facsimile reprint of a classic book, first published by T&AD Poyser in 1966. It is a monograph on one of Britain's rarest breeding birds, based on the author's meticulous field observations, coupled with information from breeding populations in Greenland and Spitsbergen. It also contains two additional chapters, the first a 1976 paper by the author on distribution, ecology and breeding, and the second, a 1993 update on Snow Buntings in Scotland. A welcome reappearance.
