This manual describes 223 species of relatively common herbaceous plants from the Three Rivers Area in Tibet, and provides an illustration for each species. Also including are the Tibetan, Chinese and Latin names of plants, the main morphological characteristics, and distribution of plants over habitats.
This manual provides an in-depth study of agricultural areas in Tibet, utilization and protection of Tibet's agriculture-rich herb resources, and promotes conservation and use of agricultural biotechnology in Tibet. Promoting diversification of agricultural production, products, and farmers' income will not only enhance the safety of Tibet's agricultural production and food security, but also contribute to the strengthening of farmers' livelihood security, which is based on local resources. Promoting the use of local agricultural biological resources for long-term climate-environment coevolution will enhance the ability to respond to climate change, and help achieve sustainable development.
