About this book

The 8th volume of the Taxonomic Atlas series is the second publication on the subfamily Noctuinae, focusing on the revised taxonomy of specifically the Palaearctic genus Eugnorisma along with additional 18 related genera of the tribe Noctuini.

The new volume comprises 125 text pages with the latest taxonomic information, full synonymy and effective diagnoses of 130 taxa of 19 genera. The 8th volume contains the descriptions of 7 new species, 20 new subspecies, 2 new subgenera and 1 new genus. Besides the descriptions of new taxa the book reports numerous taxonomic changes concerning among others the European fauna.

The Witt Catalogue, Volume 8 is illustrated with 33 colour plates of high quality magnified photos displaying all taxa included and with 26 colour plates showing the variation of each taxon in natural size. The genitalia of all species and subspecies are figured on 130 black and white plates.

This book is very useful for taxonomists, libraries of scientific institutes and professional amateur collectors, as well as for those naturalists who are interested in the true biodiversity of both the Eurasian Fauna and the nocturnal lepidopterans.
