About this book

Volume 17 of Fauna Entomologica Scandinavica is the third of five planned volumes dealing with the superfamily Aphidoidea. The first volume (Volume 9 of Fauna Entomologica Scandinavica) comprising the introductory chapters to the superfamily and the systematic treatment of the families Mindaridae, Hormaphididae, Thelaxidae, Anoeciidae, and Pemphigidae, appeared in 1980. The second volume (Volume 11) comprising the systematic treatment of the family Drepanosiphidae appeared in 1982.

The present third volume deals with part of the family Aphididae, viz. Pterocommatinae and the tribe Aphidini within Aphidinae. The fourth and fifth volumes will deal with the remaining species of Aphididae (Aphidinae: tribe Macrosiphini) and the family Lachnidae.
