Caddisflies, along with other aquatic insects, help to recycle the energy and nutrients that sustain all freshwater habitats and as productive ecosystems. Eighty percent of this book is dedicated to taxanomic and distributional information for 74 species in the family Phryganeidae and contains keys for identifying each species in adult, larvae, and papae to genus forms. This study is an exemplar of the systematic monograph that comes at the conclusion of many years of detailed study, field work, and examination of museum collections.
