About this book

For the first time in over a hundred years, a comprehensive, illustrated guide to the caterpillars of British butterflies and macro-moths has been produced to complement Bernard Skinner's Colour Identification Guide to the Moths of the British Isles. This book illustrates over 850 different species, all photographed in natural situations upon the relevant foodplants, including many varieties indigenous to continental Europe. Many have never been illustrated before, either by artwork or by photography.

The volume published in 2010 is not a new edition - the content is the same as that of the 1997 edition, but with a new cover.
