Stephen Elliott received his PhD in ecology at Edinburgh University in 1985. Since 1986, he has lived and worked in Chiang Mai, where he is a lecturer in wildlife conservation and ecology at Chiang Mai University's Biology Department. In 1994, he co-founed the award-winning Forest Restoration Research Unit, which is developing new techniques to restore forest ecosystems to degraded sites within Thailand's conservation areas for wildlife conservation. Gerald Cubitt is a world renowned nature photographer whose many visits to South-east Asia have been recorded in a series of stunning images.
