This CD-ROM treats 47 genera comprising almost 500 species. Among the major genera are Phreatia, Plocoglottis, Spathoglottis and Taeniophyllum. Not included are genera allied to Dendrobium and Bulbophyllum, as these are treated in Volumes II and VI of this series.
For each species, a full description is given, with data on distribution (including maps), synonymy, cultivation, ecology, typification, classification, etc.
