A delightful, practical guide to the principal British wild flower families. This book will be popular with both amateur and professional botanists as a simple but useful first step in the identification of British wild flowers.
Geoffrey Copley obtained a PhD at Leeds University and spent his proressional life as a physicist in industrial research laboratories. On retirement he studied botany and botanical illustration at the University of Sheffield to further a lifetime interest in wild flowers. Distinguishing Wild Flower Families was a culmination of those courses. This is a first publication and second printing of the original. It continues to be popular with both amateur and professional botanists as a simple but useful first step in the identification of British wild flowers.
"It is a wonderful mix of text, illustrations and tables, all highlighting the distinguishing features of the most Important plant families. Putting a plant in its family Is 80% of the way to identifying it"
- Dr. Patrick Harding
