Types of Hymenoptera described by Gabriel Strobl, a friar in the Benedictine abbey at Admont, Austria, from 1865 until his death in 1925. Strobl was primarily a dipterist, and built up an enormous collection which has been re-curated over the past two decades by Professor Milan Chvala of Prague University. Chvala has published an account of the Diptera types in Studia Dipterologica, supplement 17. In The Types of Hymenoptera described by Pater Gabriel Strobl he covers the species of Hymenoptera that Strobl published in 19 papers between 1895 and 1904. Includes many colour pictures of the Abbey, the natural history museum and collections established by Strobl, and many of Strobl's collecting localities. The types of 279 species of Hymenoptera are discussed
