About this book

Language: French

This book is a contribution to the history of equestrian culture of the Greek world. By adopting the angle of the war horse, it aims to study the perks of military horseback riding and the actions of cavalry on the battlefield. Using source such as the Athenian Xenophon (c. 430-c. 355 BC), but also other available sources (literary, epigraphic and iconographic), it is possible to focus on the specifics of horse breeding, through to the types of frames produced and their integration in the cavalry.
