The Indian state of Sikkim is rich in biodiversity, with some 42% of the area being part of protected areas or biosphere reserves. This book brings together a number of research papers and articles to create an awareness of the rich flora and fauna of the state. The book contains five sections, dealing with plant biodiversity; animal biodiversity; indigenous knowledge systems and intellectual property rights; climate, nature and sustainable livelihoods; and threats to biodiversity from landslides.
