About this book

This easy-to-use guide helps specifiers, designers and their clients assess the relative environmental impacts of hundreds of elemental specifications for roofs, walls, floors etc.

Environmental ratings are based on Life Cycle Assessment using the methodology developed by BRE with funding from DETR and support from a wide range of construction manufacturing trade associations. Individual manufacturers can now obtain certified Environment Profiles which allow their products to be compared to the generic profiles. The Green Guide is used for BREEAM schemes to provide materials credits.

Media reviews

A"The fourth edition is fantastic - having not seen the other three and I can't categorically say it's the best - but the fact there are 1,200 specifications, and in the first print there were 200, means it's a fair assumption to make.A" ( Building Engineer ,September 2009)
