About this book

Describes nearly 300 plants and animals that occur outside the boundaries of the United States of America. Volume 3 covers non-mammal species that were identified before January 2000 by the US Fish and Wildlife Service as either endangered or threatened. Species are arranged taxonomically and introductions are given to larger taxonomic groups of species, which include a photograph of a representive species as well as a descriptive essay detailing important characterisitcs of the group. After each taxon introduction, there are species accounts, which describe endanagered species belonging to the taxon.
