In this monograph of the Fauna Ibérica series, 97 species of Tabanidae (Diptera) in the Iberian-Balearic area are revised. The volume consists of an introduction followed by identification keys of the subfamilies, tribes, genera, and species. Also included descriptions, illustrations and information on the biology and distribution of each species. An extensive bibliography and a updated review of the scientific nomenclature is attached at the end.

En esta monografía de Fauna Ibérica se revisan 97 especies de la familia Tabanidae (Diptera), presentes en el área íbero-balear. El volumen consta de una parte general, así como de claves para la identificación de subfamilias, tribus, géneros y especies y, para cada una de las especies, una descripción con ilustraciones y datos sobre su biología y distribución geográfica. En su parte final incluye una extensa bibliografía y una revisión actualizada de la nomenclatura sistemática de la familia.
