About this book

Language: Chinese with English summary

Systematic Studies on Aphidiidae of China deals with the systematic studies on the family Aphidiidae from China. It comprises two parts, namely general account and systematic account.

In the general account, the taxonomic history, morphology, biology, phylogeny, application and methods for collecting, making and preserving the specimens are briefly reviewed. In the systematic account, 23 genera and 127 species are recongnized, including 2 new genera, 15 new species and 9 species recorded for the first time from China. Three synonymies are gived: Binodoxys orientalis Stary and Schlinger, Foverphedrus longus Chen are junior synonym of B. centaureae Haliday and F. longistigmus (Gardenfors) respectively; Lysiphlebia mirzai Shujauddia and L. sacchari Chen are junior synonym of L. japonica (Ashmead). Keys to genera and species are given. Under each genus, the generic synonymy, diagnostic characters, systematic history and present systematic status, geographic distribution and host records are reviewed and discussed. All the species known from China are described, and most of them are illustrated. After the systematic account, the literature cited in Systematic Studies on Aphidiidae of China is listed.

Finally, a list of the known Chinese genera and species of the family Aphidiidae with their hosts and distribution is provided, 220 SEM photos and 39 figures are also provided. All the type-specimens are deposited in the Beneficial Insects Lab, Plant Protection College, Fujian Agriculture and Forestry University, Fuzhou, China
